  • Flexible 2-Channel Functionality: Two independent channels provide stimulus and clock signals for circuit development, enabling complex test setups.
  • High Bandwidth & Sample Rate: With 20 MHz sine and 10 MHz square waves, and a 200 MSa/s sample rate, waveforms are reproduced accurately and without artifacts.
  • Comprehensive Modulation Options: Supports 7 different modulation types (AM, FM, PM, ASK, FSK, PSK, PWM) for sophisticated tests in communications engineering.
  • Large Waveform Library: Includes 200 built-in arbitrary waveforms for common, mathematical, medical, and engineering applications.
  • Integrated Frequency Counter: Measures external signal frequencies from 100 mHz to 200 MHz, saving space and the cost of a separate instrument.
  • Advanced Sweep & Burst Modes: Linear and logarithmic frequency sweeps for characterizing filters and amplifiers, plus N-cycle, gated, and infinite burst types.
  • Certified Safety: The product is fully EU compliant, meeting all relevant safety and performance standards for worry-free use in professional environments.

16-Bit Resolution at an Essential-Series Price

Enter the world of professional signal generation without breaking your budget. The UNI-T UTG1022X from the Essential Series is more than just another function generator—it's your reliable partner for precise and clean signals in any application. Whether in the development lab, for educational purposes, or in an ambitious hobbyist's workshop, this device sets new standards in its price range.

The Decisive Advantage: 16-Bit Architecture

While most generators in this segment are limited to 14-bit resolution, the UTG1022X features a true 16-bit architecture. What does this mean for you? With 65,536 amplitude levels instead of just 16,384, quantization noise is drastically reduced. Your generated waveforms are smoother, purer, and represent the ideal signal much more accurately. This technological edge provides you with more reliable test results and a more precise characterization of your circuits.

Versatility for Every Challenge

With two independent channels, a bandwidth of up to 20 MHz, and an extensive library of 200 built-in waveforms, you are equipped for almost any measurement task. Simulate complex signals, test the frequency response of filters with the sweep function, or generate precise pulse trains in burst mode. The seven integrated modulation types also open up possibilities for testing in the field of analog and digital communications. Your safety and compliance with quality standards are assured: the product is safe and conforms to stringent EU norms, ensuring reliable operation.

Intuitive and Efficient

The clear 4.3-inch TFT display and well-designed menu navigation provide quick access to all parameters. Instead of struggling with complex menus, you can focus on what matters: your measurement. With its USB interface and SCPI support, the UTG1022X can also be easily integrated into automated test environments.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What's the difference between the UTG1000X and the more expensive UTG2000B/UTG2000X series?

A: The UTG1022X delivers the same professional 16-bit resolution as the higher-end series but at a more accessible price point. The UTG2000 models add higher sample rates, deeper waveform memory, more modulation types, and additional features like a touchscreen or harmonic generation. For basic to intermediate applications, the UTG1022X is the most economical choice with excellent signal quality.

Q: Is PC software included with the UTG1022X?

A: The software for controlling the generator and creating custom waveforms can be downloaded for free from the official UNI-T website. The package includes the instrument, a power cable, and a USB cable.

Q: Who is this device best suited for?

A: The UTG1022X is ideal for educational institutions, electronics development and prototyping labs, service technicians, as well as advanced hobbyists and makers who need a professional-grade instrument at an affordable price.

Q: Can I upload my own custom waveforms to the device?

A: Yes, you can create and upload your own arbitrary waveforms up to 4,096 points in length via the USB interface and the PC software.

Safety Instructions

⚠️ Safety and Warning Instructions for Measurement and Testing Equipment

Before using our measurement and testing equipment (such as multimeters, current/ground fault clamps, voltage testers, laser and environmental measuring devices, laboratory power supplies, oscilloscopes, and testing and inspection tools), please be sure to observe the following warnings:

Electrical Safety & Voltage Hazards (Danger to Life)

  • Risk of electric shock: Check devices and test leads for damage (e.g., cracks in the insulation, exposed wires) before each use. Damaged devices or cables must never be used!
  • Measurement categories (CAT): Pay attention to the permissible overvoltage category (e.g., CAT III 600V, CAT IV 300V). Never use the devices in mains circuits that exceed the specified category or the maximum rated voltage/current.
  • Voltage-free condition: Perform resistance, continuity, diode, or capacitance measurements exclusively on voltage-free circuits. Capacitors must be discharged before measurement.
  • Fuses: Replace defective fuses in multimeters exclusively with the exact same type (usually high-resistance ceramic fuses with the same voltage and current specifications). Never bypass them!
  • Grounding & Lab Power Supplies: Operate mains-powered test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, lab power supplies, function generators) only from properly grounded outlets. Incorrect voltage or current settings on laboratory power supplies can destroy connected components, which can lead to fire or explosion (e.g., of electrolytic capacitors).

Laser Radiation & Optical Hazards

  • Eye injuries: Many devices (laser rangefinders, infrared thermometers, tachometers) use aiming lasers. Never look directly into the laser beam and do not point it at people or animals.
  • Reflections: Caution around reflective surfaces! The laser beam can be deflected and unintentionally strike the eye.
  • Risk of glare: Borescopes and inspection cameras often have very bright LEDs. Do not look directly into the light source.

Heat, fire hazard & environmental conditions

  • Risk of burns: When using thermal imaging cameras or contact thermometers to measure hot components (e.g., in industrial settings or on engines), there is a risk of accidentally touching hot surfaces. The measuring device itself does not protect against the heat of the test object.
  • Wetness & Moisture: Never use electrical measuring instruments in wet, damp, or extremely condensing environments unless they explicitly have a corresponding IP protection rating. Moisture inside the device can lead to fatal short circuits.
  • Explosion hazard: The devices are generally not EX-protected. Do not use them in environments containing explosive gases, vapors, or dust.

Mechanical hazards & handling

  • Rotating machine parts: When using tachometers, anemometers, or stroboscopes on running machines, there is an extreme risk of entanglement. Maintain a safe distance and do not wear loose clothing, have your hair down, or wear dangling jewelry. Ensure that test leads do not come into contact with moving parts.
  • Falls & Equipment Damage: A dropped measuring device (e.g., multimeter, insulation tester) may be internally damaged, which means protection against electric shock is no longer guaranteed. If in doubt, have the device tested at 230V before using it again.
  • Magnetic fields: Some devices or mounts contain strong magnets. Keep them away from pacemakers, magnetic data storage devices, and sensitive electronics.

General Information & Health

  • Technical expertise: Work on electrical systems (especially those operating at 50V AC / 120V DC or higher) must only be performed by appropriately trained professionals.
  • Batteries: Remove batteries/rechargeable batteries if the device is not used for an extended period of time to prevent damage and burns caused by leaking battery acid.
  • Children: These high-precision test and measurement devices are not toys. Keep them out of the reach of children.
